Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31, 1965) is an American actress and model. She was initially a child model and gained critical acclaim at age 12 for her leading role in Louis Malle’s film Pretty Baby (1978), in which she played a child prostitute in New Orleans at the beginning of the 20th century. Shields garnered widespread notoriety in the role, and she continued to model into her late teenage years and starred in several dramas in the 1980s, including The Blue Lagoon (1980), and Franco Zeffirelli’s Endless Love (1981).

Christopher Atkins (born Christopher Atkins Bomann;[1][2] February 21, 1961) is an American actor, who became famous in his debut role with co-star Brooke Shields in the 1980 film The Blue Lagoon.

The Blue Lagoon is a 1980 American romantic survival drama film directed by Randal Kleiser and filmed on Turtle Island in Fiji.[1] The screenplay by Douglas Day Stewart was based on the 1908 novel The Blue Lagoon by Henry De Vere Stacpoole. The film stars Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins. The music score was composed by Basil Poledouris and the cinematography was by Néstor Almendros. The film tells the story of two young children marooned on a tropical island paradise in the South Pacific. With neither the guidance nor the restrictions of society, emotional feelings and physical changes arise as they reach puberty and fall in love. The film contained a substantial amount of sexual content, and Shields was depicted as nude in many of the scenes. This was controversial, as she was 14 years old at the time of the filming. Body doubles were used in some of her nude scenes and in frontal shots her breasts were always covered by her long hair or in other ways.[2] The film received an MPAA rating of R in the United States.
